Halimat Adio has become the new Vice Chair of the Player Rep group at the Netball Players Association (NPA). Hali currently plays for London Pulse, being captain for two seasons and is in the England Roses program. As a rising star in netball, Hali has recently had injuries which have resulted in her receiving support from the NPA and utilising the benefits the organisation that are available to all elite players. Through injury, Hali has continued to show leadership qualities and been active in the NPA which has culminated in her taking up this role.
Managing Director of the NPA, Liz Bloor said, "We are delighted to have Hali on board and we are looking forward to working with her, she has such enthusiasm and passion for the work of the NPA in protecting the interests of the members and promoting the sport."
Hali said of the opportunity to take on this role "I want to be part of an organization that has a reputation for integrity and honesty, but I also want to be part of an organization that sees us [players] as people first. I am eager to acquire knowledge and develop my skills in order to improve."
Hali has already attended her first NPA Board meeting and everyone at the NPA is excited to have a new Vice Chair following the retirement of Stacey Francis-Bayman.
We would like to thank Stacey for the time she dedicated to the NPA while living and playing in Australia. We wish her all the best in her retirement.
