The Netball Players Association (NPA) provides a unified voice supporting and promoting player welfare in the United Kingdom.
WHAT WE DO
The NPA represents the players and is a hugely important contributor to the development of netball and netball players in the United Kingdom. All objectives are aimed at maximising player support and welfare to help enhance performance on court.
ESTABLISH PLAYER'S RIGHTS
The NPA represents players collectively in negotiation with England Netball, Netball Scotland and the VNSL. The NPA has successfully negotiated a common league contract for all registered VNSL club players to ensure that their employment and commercial rights are properly documented.
We represent all our members with transparent governance of the NPA to ensure all voices are heard equally. We have player representatives across differing levels of experience and clubs providing a platform for players to positively contribute to the growth and direction of the sport.
PLAYER WELFARE & WELLBEING
The NPA provides access to skilled counsellors and sports psychologists who can provide confidential support for any player with concerns about her own well-being or mental health. In addition to this the NPA offers a discount on medical insurance through one of our affiliate partners.
DEVELOPMENT & EDUCATION
The NPA advises and assists players with career planning and offers support for players throughout their netball career to ensure they are well equipped to cope with all moments of transition. This includes supporting players with the advancement of their personal development outside of netball and other aspects of lifestyle support.
FINANCIAL & EMPLOYMENT
The NPA educates players on their personal obligations under all contractual agreements in addition to monitoring their employment environments to ensure all player rights and entitlements are honoured. We also offer financial guidance and signposting to sources of advice.
CONTRACT & IMAGE RIGHTS
The NPA offers advice to players on any third party commercial agreements, personal sponsorship opportunities and education surrounding image rights. As the game professionalises it is important players protect their rights and that there is a framework in place for everyone to follow.
ABOUT THE NPA
The Netball Players Association is run and managed by current and retired netball players who are passionate about enhancing the experience for those currently competing in netball in the United Kingdom. They work in direct consultation with individuals who specialise in business, legal and player welfare in order to deliver the organisation's strategic objectives.
The NPA will maintain positive relationships with netball governing bodies and competition administrators, linking with other player associations to share ideas and best practice. The primary aim is to represent the player's views on issues affecting professional and semi-professional netball players in the United Kingdom.
WHAT THE PLAYERS SAY
I cannot thank the NPA enough. I can pick up the phone, ask for advice on lots of different things like business... I've had help with contracts, web design, commercial and marketing.
Ex-England Roses & Saracens Mavericks
The NPA helped me to find a good deal with my car insurance through All Sport Insurance and that's particularly important for athletes that spend a lot of time in the car.
England Roses & Loughborough
It's really great that we get a voice and to share our opinions. We can fight for things we think that as players we deserve and need.
