NPA APPOINT NEW PLAYER LIAISON OFFICERS

The Netball Players Association (NPA) are pleased to announce the appointment of Sarah Gandon and Sophia Candappa as Player Liaison Officers.

 

These newly created roles will provide an important link between the growing number of professional netball players and the NPA to ensure that the associations services and members support are tailored to their needs.


Sarah Gandon, a former England team manager has extensive experience of working with elite squads and the management and administration of events and programmes across many sports.


“I cant wait to get started. I am excited to work with the players and about the potential of the NPA to ensure that the players voices are heard as netball develops.”


Sophia Candappa, an experienced teacher and elite netballer having been part of England age group and senior programmes for over eight years and winning Super League titles with both Surrey Storm and Wasps


“I am really looking forward to working as a Player Liaison Officer for the NPA. Supporting the players, enhancing their welfare and giving them a voice are all things I am passionate about.”


NPA player rep and England captain Serena Guthrie welcomed the appointments as an important next step in the growth of the NPA


“It’s really exciting to have Sophia and Sarah on board to help in the growth and development of our association, the NPA is so valuable to us players as we navigate our way through the professionalisation of netball”
