Glasgow 2026: Netball’s Biggest Names and NPA Players Ready to Spark Commonwealth Games

World Netball (WN) and Glasgow 2026 have today announced the 12 netball nations set to compete at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games next summer.

The tournament will feature the world’s top 12 ranked netball nations, with members of the Netball Players Association (NPA) represented across up to nine of these teams. This promises an exciting competition showcasing elite talent on the global stage.

A significant highlight is the representation of all four Home Nations—England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland—a first for this event. Traditionally, only three Home Nations qualify for the Netball World Cup, so having all four teams competing in Glasgow marks a major achievement for netball in the region.

While the majority of NPA members come from Netball Europe, the association is proud to support players from beyond Europe, including the SPAR Proteas of South Africa and notable athletes from Malawi, Uganda, Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica. Alumni such as Mary Cholhok will likely be part of the excitement.

Speaking on the importance of the event, WN President Dame Liz Nicholl DBE said:

"The Commonwealth Games is one of the most thrilling occasions in the World Netball calendar. It offers our top 12 Commonwealth nations an incredible platform to compete alongside world-class athletes from various sports. The netball matches always deliver spectacular moments thanks to the exceptional talent and passionate fans worldwide. Glasgow 2026 is sure to create unforgettable memories for all."

A full copy of the sport competition schedule can be found on the official Glasgow 2026 website, with the detailed netball match schedule due for release in November.

Tickets went on general sale at noon on Thursday 30th October, with prices ranging from £17-65 for non-medal matches and £26-85 for medal matches. Fans are encouraged to secure their tickets early via www.glasgow2026.com..
