Ella Clark steps up into Player Chair role for the Netball Players Association

The NPA are pleased to announce that Ella Clark is stepping into the role of Player Chair for the NPA, taking over from Fran Williams who has moved to Australia to play for West Coast Fever.

Ella’s experience as a player in the England Roses Programme and in the Netball Super League brings a broad knowledge of the sport and a wide network of players across the league. Her experience as a dual international in Basketball, gives her an additional perspective from another sport. We believe that Ella is in a great position to use those attributes within the NPA to advance the game as we move towards the professionalisation of netball.

Liz Bloor, NPA CEO said “We are delighted that Ella has taken on the role of player chair for the Netball Players Association. Ella has a vast experience in netball both at club and international level and has seen first-hand the highs and lows of an athlete’s journey. This gives her the perfect platform to help drive the NPA forward to best support and represent its members.”

Ella took on the role as Loughborough Lightning Player Rep at the start of the 2023/24 season and steps into the Chair role bringing new ideas on how to utilise the player reps across all clubs and ensure the players voice is at the forefront of NPA activity. She said, “I'm excited to take on this role and feel privileged to be the voice of the players in an important time for netball in the UK as we start the transition into professionalisation.”

Fran has been an outstanding Player Chair for the last two years and will continue to be involved with the NPA representing the NPA members playing in the Australian Suncorp Super Netball league and the ANZ Premier League in New Zealand, a role that has previously been fulfilled by Jo Harten and Stacey Francis.

Halimat Adio remains in her role of Player Vice Chair and will continue her work alongside Ella bringing the players voice to the NPA.
